Well, how did you do? If you're like most, I bet you put the OK sign on your cheek and NOT your chin! Why did you do that? Neurophysiological evidence lends support to the belief that vision may be the human being's most important sense. Consider that 30% of the 100 billion neurons in your brain are dedicated to some aspect of vision. Now compare that to only 2% for hearing!
So there is some truth to the old adage "actions speak louder than words". What you do and how you do it sends a powerful message to others. As noted communications scholar and philosopher Paul Watzlawick famously expressed, "you cannot not communicate". Simply put - role modeling matters!
