Lessons from Lasso

A year of belief, belonging, and a better you!

What If Your Workplace Had a Little More Lasso in It?

Ted Lasso isn’t really about soccer. It’s about people. It’s about messy relationships, hard conversations, second chances, and what happens when you believe in others before they believe in themselves.

That’s why I created Lessons from Lasso—a 10-month webinar series where we take one episode from Season 1 each month and pull out a powerful, science-backed lesson you can use at work (and in life).

Think of it as book club meets behavioral science—with biscuits.

Why Join?

Because life and work are messy. And you don’t need more theory—you need stories and practices that actually stick. Here’s what makes this different:

  • Pop Culture Meets Science – Ted Lasso gives us the story. I’ll give you the neuroscience, psychology, and HERO Skills underneath it.

  • One Bite at a Time – 45–60 minutes a month. Just enough to spark change, not overwhelm.

  • For Humans, Not Just Leaders – This isn’t “executive training.” It’s for anyone navigating teams, colleagues, clients, or family (so… everyone).

  • Season-Long Arc – We’ll walk through all 10 episodes of Season 1, from Believe to Resilience. You’ll finish the year with a toolbox full of relational intelligence skills.

Your Season 1 Journey

Episode 1 - Pilot:
Believing Before you Belong

Ted Lasso arrives as the ultimate outsider—no soccer experience, no credibility. Yet his optimism plants the first seeds of belonging. In this session, we’ll explore the neuroscience of expectation, why belief precedes belonging, and how you can set the tone in any new role or team.

Episode 2 – Biscuits: Small Gestures, Big Impact

A box of homemade shortbread transforms a hostile boss into an unlikely ally. This episode tackles the psychology of reciprocity and why small, consistent gestures of care can reshape relationships at work and beyond.

Episode 3 – Trent Crimm, The Independent: Humility in the Spotlight

Ted faces a skeptical journalist with honesty and self-deprecating humor. We’ll unpack humility as a strength, how owning what you don’t know builds trust, and why leaders (and teammates) who admit limitations invite collaboration.

Episode 4 – For the Children: Compassion in Conflict

The gala fundraiser reveals rivalries, jealousy, and sharp conflict. Yet moments of empathy break through. This session highlights how compassion softens confrontation, reduces defensiveness, and creates space for resolution.

Episode 5 – Tan Lines: Values Under Pressure

When Ted’s marriage unravels, he chooses authenticity over image. We’ll examine how personal values intersect with professional roles, and how staying grounded in what matters most helps you lead (and live) with integrity.

Episode 6 – Two Aces: Team Before Ego

Two star players clash, and Ted must shift focus from individual glory to collective success. This episode dives into the psychology of ego, belonging, and the science of shared identity in building high-performing teams.

Episode 7 – Make Rebecca Great Again: Healing Through Reflection

A night out reveals Rebecca’s pain and Ted’s quiet support. Here, we’ll explore the power of reflection, vulnerability, and social connection as pathways to healing and growth.

Episode 8 – The Diamond Dogs: Relational Support

Ted forms his inner circle—the Diamond Dogs—proving that even coaches need coaching. This session emphasizes the neuroscience of peer support, why social bonds protect against stress, and how to build your own “Diamond Dogs.”

Episode 9 –
All Apologies: Repairing Trust

A heartfelt apology mends relationships and rebuilds trust. We’ll break down the psychology of apology, why saying “sorry” matters, and how to repair ruptures in teams and partnerships.

Episode 10 – The Hope That Kills You: Resilience in Failure

Despite their best efforts, Richmond is relegated. But Ted reframes loss as learning. We’ll unpack the science of resilience, how setbacks shape growth, and why failure doesn’t have to define you.
